The aim of this test was to confirm the damage for splash effects. A theory existed that the distance from the point of impact
is a factor in splash damage. Another theory exists that all targets caught within the splash are hit for 50% damage.
Initially tests were conducted using "*d full" to determine if all players hit by a splash are damaged for the same amount. This
is not the case. The game calculates the damage seperately for each player hit.
36 tests were then conducted using Cold Ball II. The splash damages were tested at 3 distances from point of impact.
The splash-radius of Cold Ball II can be measured in-game as approximately 3.5 "square tiles" in the Cathedral main
hall. The values given below are measured in such tiles.

Notes
- Averages at every range very similar - no effect due to proximity to point of impact.
- Cold Ball II calculated average for a direct hit is 53
- Experimental overall average damage found to be exactly 26.5, matching 50% hypothesis perfectly
- Half of minimum damage for a direct hit with Cold Ball II is 15.5
- Half of maximum damage for a direct hit with Cold Ball II is 37.5
- Experimental damages fall in the range 21-32, which matches the 50% hypothesis
- A further series of 29 tests were undertaken to ensure the accuracy of the preceeding points. The the results fall within
the range 17-30, with an average of 25.5. The overall average for 65 tests was found to be 26.1.
- A series of 27 tests were also undertaken to prove the accuracy of the calculated direct damage. The results fall within
the range 48-64, with an average of 55.5. This is higher than the calculated average, but within the reach of experimental
probability (4.7% deviation from calculated mean).
